ABOUT THE MAN

Jacob Harrell's life began as so many of our's do - deep within the womb. He does not remember too much from this time, except that it was considerably moist.

As a youth, he was a bit of a loner with a wild imagination. He could entertain himself for hours just with the stories in his head. It was as a youth that he discovered the joys of literature, ravenously devouring title after title in the pursuit of losing himself within unchartered worlds. When those worlds within the pages were not enough, he would create his own adventures in this one. Ever a lover of the outdoors, Jacob sought out, and continues to do so, every experience that he could find, from beneath the swirling waves to above the soaring clouds - scuba diving, surfing, hiking, backpacking, caving, rock climbing, sky diving.

This love for the outdoors led him to obtain a degree from West Virginia University in the field of Wildlife and Fisheries Resources. Time in college, coupled with the literature he continued to absorb, helped to shape him into the person he is today, but it wasn't until after a particular vision quest that he was finally able to who he was and be himself.

Jacob has always been a writer, or at least for as long as he can remember. Being able to craft his own stories and lose himself in his own adventures had always held a huge appeal to him, but, much like Kurt Vonnegut's Kilgore Trout, Jacob never really felt the need to share those stories with anybody else, except for an elite chosen few. Even still, it had always been a dream of his to publish at least one work of fiction. Dutifully, he set to the task of writing The Transient, the Emperor, and the Man Left Alone in the early months of 2015, and now, after months of hard work, it has been made available to the entire world.

This will not be his only foray into the publishing world. Already, Jacob is hard at work on a few other projects that he hopes to have out by next year.
